Ever wondered why it’s called MANILA Paper, MANILA Envelope, or MANILA Folder? Because its pulp came from MANILA HEMP a.k.a. Abaca. It’s the same plant where our Cuerdas are made.
Cuerda is Spanish for rope.
This style is made of pure natural Abaca. Native to the Philippines, Abaca is considered one of the strongest fibers in the world. It is originally used as marine cordage as it is resistant to saltwater damage, buoyant, with an excellent tear, and tensile strength. Most of all, it is biodegradable and 97% is exported from the Philippines.
